Expanding Our Possibilities of Full Blooming TM
with
Margaret Dubay Mikus, Ph.D.
We can support our powerful, innate healing systems, learn more easily, and reconnect with our natural
creativity. And have fun doing it! These practical, interactive workshops teach new tools that are easy, gentle and
powerful, addressing needs of body, mind, emotions, and spirit. No previous experience is required. These skills can
be used every day and in times of crisis. My intention is to broaden awareness of options for healing, encourage lifelong
learning, and restore creative connection. To laugh and dance and sing, as we all did once, is the beginning of our “full
blooming” as human beings.
Poetry is the heart of each session and I often tell my healing stories. The energy balancing exercises are relaxing,
enhance learning, and open creative “space” within us. With all activities, participants are encouraged to follow their
own comfort level and inner guidance. Music and healing energy help create a safe and sacred workspace. Each workshop is
unique, shaped by my experience and intuition, and the interests of the particular group. All are welcome.
An example:
1) Introduction and set personal goals
2) Group backrub and letting go breaths
3) Energetic Life Balancing Waker’s Dozen (Robert Waldon, N.D., Ph.D.)
4) Read poems chosen for the group, then discussion
5) Brief meditation/relaxation/breathing/visualization
6) Short, timed flow writings (no writing experience needed)
7) Opportunity to share writing with the group
8) Experience deep relaxation with Soothing Pulse CD by John Ortiz, Ph.D.
8) Toning or singing
9) Questions and wrap up
Testimonials:
After a workshop for a fourth grade class at Half Day School (Lincolnshire, IL): "Thank you so much for sharing your
poetry and skills with the class. We all enjoyed it. Students were discussing their pieces after you left (over and over)." M.B.
Following poetry readings and workshops for seventh and eighth grade classes at Daniel Wright Junior High School (Lincolnshire, IL): "I
just want to tell you how much my classes appreciated your poetry sessions. They have added such a dimension to their views of poetry
and poetry writing." A.B.
Article in The Daily Herald about my two-part poetry workshop for teens at the Vernon Area Library (Lincolnshire, IL).
I’ve taught adult workshops at many places: SHARE, the breast cancer support group at Highland Park Hospital, Kusala Healing Center
(Highland Park, IL), Healing Earth Resources (Chicago, IL), Prairie Moon Bookstore (Mount Prospect, IL), Advocate-Bethany Hospital
(Chicago, IL), Fredrick Chiropractic Plus (Gurnee, IL), and the 2004 Fall Self-Help Conference, (Urbana, IL). I’ve also given
mini-workshops at St. Rene Goupil Catholic Community Center (Sterling Heights, MI) and for Y-ME support groups (St. Charles and Barrington, IL).
I was awed and moved by the heart-energy and generosity of the participants.
"The message of your poetry and experiences was so powerful…the women who came were very appreciative and enjoyed the poetry very much." M.L.
"You are so inspirational to me. Thank you for sharing." S.K.
"I’m glad I had a chance to attend your workshop this weekend. It was a very moving experience…I feel very empowered to make some changes in my life." P.D.

Promise
I can tell you how I got here
and you might try to follow,
but not find what you sought:
your own true heart.
I can describe the nuts and bolts,
I can tell a good story,
I could have you laugh
or weep with me…
and perhaps I will.
But you must promise
you’ll take into you
only the parts that are your own.
You must promise not to even try
to be like me.
You must promise you will
become who you really are
and then you’ll tell me your stories
and I will take from them
what is mine.
