The Mechanics of Healing

To imagine a version of myself
without illness,
without a trace of bitterness
at what was done or undone.

To remember I am never alone
without resources or kindness,
to be balanced, strong and calm,
living clean in the day to day

uninfluenced by subconscious
misinterpretations, misunderstandings,
false assumptions passed down,
unhealed breaches of trust and confidence.

To not find fault with myself,
not judge harshly as my default position,
to reset expectation back to the beginning
when life stretched out pure and promising.
