The Greater Tuberosity

A crack in the greater tuberosity,
another body part named,
limitation measured by experience.

Sounds more like a peak encountered
climbing Mount Everest, but in fact is
the ball atop the upper arm bone, the humerus,

that fits into the elegant shoulder socket
allowing movement in all directions,
magnificent and taken for granted,

until lost that is,
until healed
then gratitude.
