Somewhere in the Middle

More Towards the End

The Guides speak

Again they said
she will not listen
We will have to
knock her flat
no breath to breathe in
her heart pounding in
irregular rhythm
All this to just get her attention
get her to stop and listen

The days are short
the hours longer
when the body
minds not being younger
the mind not yet
beginning to wander
This window of opportunity
this sliver of eternity
all yours
if you pay attention

Don’t piss it all away
this time
