Monday Call

How calming to speak with her still,
how heart full,

wide-ranging, lots of laughing,
though words get lost

and threads of conversation sometimes.
To be on the other end of the line

talking, how ordinary.
How extraordinary!

And sometime looking back
the second gift…remembering.

To see my life, my work
through her generous eyes

the unfailing encouragement,
her unflagging support.
