How I Choose to Tell the Story

Punch line first,
how it all turns out fine,
how I am not the victim of anything.

Some of the dark details or none
stripped of inevitable drama,
how all help was there for me,

how much I have recovered,
how I am in no pain
in spite of everything.

Leave out the disorientation,
the evoked depression,
the endless feeling of despair,

for from this vantage point
back in steady light,
from this somewhat balanced perception

…again
I trust all is well.
